Sudan’s Bashir conveyed an important message to Assad; Syria should rejoin the Arab League

Sudan’s President Omar al-Bashir has become the first Arab League leader to visit Damascus since the war in Syria began nearly eight years ago.
The two leaders discussed bilateral ties and the “situations and crises faced by many Arab countries”, the Syrian presidency said.
A  source familiar with the matter said  omar al bashir conveyed a message from Arab leaders to Bashar al-Assad:Syria should rejoin the Arab League, omar al bashir also said he hopes Syria will recover its important role in the region and among Arab countries as soon as possible. He also affirmed Sudan’s readiness to provide all that it can to support Syria’s territorial integrity.
In October, Assad told a Kuwaiti newspaper that Syria had reached a “major understanding” with Arab states after years of hostility. He did not name the Arab countries in the interview,  but he said Arab and Western delegations had begun visiting Syria to prepare for the reopening of diplomatic and other missions.
